|The Government has recently announced that house moves can go ahead subject to social distancing measures remaining in place which means we are now able to start letting properties. There will however be delays in the turnaround of properties as repairs are taking longer due to the social distancing measures that are in place. If you have been offered a property we kindly ask that you do not contact us at this time. Please rest assured that you will be contacted in due course to arrange a viewing but we firstly need to prioritise moves for those customers in urgent need. In the meantime we ask that you ensure you have an email address to enable us to send your tenancy documents electronically, this will avoid any delays signing your tenancy agreement.
If you or a family member are displaying symptoms of Covid 19 or if you are self-isolating or shielding please ensure you advise a member of staff when we contact you
We thank you for your patience and understanding.
As demand for council housing is very high at present, you are likely to have to wait a long time before you are offered a property. Please consider what other housing options may be available to you.
From Wednesday 20th May you will need to re-register to access this service. You will need to provide a valid email address and password when registering, which will then enable you to log on and place bids on properties that you are interested in.
The registration process will be simple all you will need is your email address and your application reference number. If you are a Wigan Council tenant and are already registered for Online Repairs you will automatically have access to the new Find A Home as part of the wider Housing Online services.
If you use the Council's My Account you can register for the new service using the same email and password.
